Temple of Brigantia

The Temple of Brigantia was a half-sunken temple dedicated to the Celtic goddess Brigantia, located on the coast of the Humbre River northeast of Donecaestre in Eurvicscire.

History

Around 876, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan met with Halfdan Ragnarsson and his dog, Beonton, and he divulged that he was to meet with his scout but to no avail. Eivor assisted to find Halfdan's scout around the temple and found his wounded scout on the top of one of temple's towers. The scout's wounds were fatal as his last minutes were around his jarl and Eivor. When the scout died, Halfdan promised to find who killed him and ordered his dog to track the attackers' scent.[1]

Through her travels, Eivor probed the temple ruins and swam underwater in its structure. Swimming through its passage, Eivor recovered the Thegn's Heavy Tunic from a chest within the sunken ruins.[2]
