Telamon was the father of Ajax and a member of the Argonauts in Greek mythology.
According to legend, Telamon fled to the Isle of Salamis after killing his half-brother Phocus. He then went on to accompany Jason on his quest for the Golden Fleece and the hunt for the Kalydonian Boar. When Ajax departed to join the Trojan War, Telamon was present and watched his son departed to Troy from the port of Salamis.[1]
Many centuries later, a lighthouse was dedicated to him in the southeastern-most tip of Salamis.[1]
