Spanish Town, founded as Villa de la Vega, is the capital town of the Jamaican parish St. Catherine.
Prior to 1715, the West Indies Assassin Mentor Ah Tabai met Mary Read in Spanish Town and decided to take her on as his apprentice. Roughly a year later, Read recounted this meeting to the pirate Edward Kenway.[1]
