Sigfred was the Norse jarl of his clan in West Francia during the late 9th century. He was the brother of the Viking leader Sinric and the uncle of Toka Sinricsdottir.

During Charles the Fat's campaign in West Francia, he sent his niece Toka to England to recruit more Vikings for the upcoming fight, as well as seek the help from jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan. He stuck an honorable deal with Eivor, after stating that Charles the Fat's forces would soon set their sights on England once their campaign against the Viking settlers in West Francia was over. He also spoke fondly of his idol, the Norse deity Víðarr, and stated that he wishes to walk a similar path to avenge his dead Viking warriors, especially his late brother Sinric.

In the last few years of his reign as a Viking leader, he led the Viking siege that led to the downfall of his enemy, Charles the Fat as well as the religious zealots, Bellatores Dei. With the defeat of the Bellatores Dei in West Francia, he had avenged his deceased brother. After the siege, he revealed to Eivor that he found no lasting peace from the Seige and professed his declining faith in the Viking path. After counseling Eivor near Sinric's grave, he decides to leave his clan in the hands of his niece Toka and find a new path in life.
