Behind the scenes

The weapon shares its look with the Super Ability skill "Arc Staff" for a Hunter's sub-class of Arcstrider in Destiny 2. Its description reflects its function in Destiny 2, as the summoned spear can be used to great effect by electrifying enemies in close-quarters combat.
