Archives

The Archives in York were the workplace of the council of Jorvik during the Anglo-Saxon period.

History

In 874, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir went to investigate the Archives for any clues regarding a series of recent thefts. During her investigation, Eivor was suddenly disturbed by the Abbess Ingeborg and the High Reeve Audun. Eivor questioned them about the whereabouts of missing Christian texts, to which Ingeborg claimed that they were safe and that someone in her rectory was responsible for the thefts. With this information, Eivor left both Audun and Ingeborg to their affairs.[1]

After assassinating both "The Firebrand" and "The Needle", who were Ingeborg and the dockmaster Grigorii, respectively, Eivor and her friend Ljufvina Bjarmarsdottir investigated the Archives once more due to Ingeborg's clue of one of the council members being "The Vault." During their search, Eivor and Ljufvina found a hidden room and discovered that the wine for the Yuletide feast was poisoned, prompting them to leave immediately to try and save the guests.[2]

During her time in Jorvik, Eivor also found a Book of Knowledge atop a ladder at the Archives and gained the ability, "Rage of Helheim."[3]
