The Sentinel Shield was a light shield inspired by the 2017 game Destiny 2.
Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relived Eivor Varinsdottir's memories, modified her Animus to include this shield as part of the shieldmaiden's arsenal.[1]

Behind the scenes
The weapon shares its name and look with the Super Ability skill of the same name for a Titan's sub-class of Sentinel in Destiny 2. Its description reflects its function in Destiny 2, as the summoned shield can be used to great effect by knocking enemies away or being used as a projectile.
