The Self-Loading Pistol Model 1868 is a semi-automatic pistol first produced in 1868. One of the most powerful and accurate sidearms made up until then, it was mechanically sophisticated for its time, a testament of the Industrial Revolution.
History
In 1868, this firearm was given by Sergeant Frederick Abberline of the Metropolitan Police Service to the British Assassins Evie and Jacob Frye as a reward for helping him curb the Blighters.[1]
Twenty years later, in the Autumn of 1888, Evie Frye bought this gun for £6,000 during her hunt for Jack the Ripper.[2]

Behind the scenes
The Self-Loading Pistol Model 1868 is based on the Bergmann 1896 pistol, making its inclusion in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, a game set in 1868, anachronistic. However, the model's stated in-game year of production was changed to 1868 as though to rectify the anachronism.
