Seker (died 47 BCE) was an Egyptian worker who worked in a quarry in the Green Mountains region of Kyrenaika during the mid-1st century BCE.
Biography
In around 47 BCE, Seker and his co-workers plotted to inititate a revolt against the Romans in charge of the quarry. Despite being adviced by a fellow worker Hapti, who was against the revolt, Seker nevertheless decided to go ahead with the plan. However, his plan was eventually discovered by the Romans, who quelled the revolt. Seker and the workers were killed and their bodies was dumped in a corner in the quarry.[1]
