The Scimitar is a sword which appears in Assassins Creed, Assassins Creed II and Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, though it is not purchasable in Brotherhood. That also aplies to the Maul. Both weapons can, however, be acquired from a guard, by retrieving it while equipped with an empty heavy sheath. The sword is pretty powerful and it is a shame you cannot buy it.
