Saint George (died 303), also George of Lydda, was a Roman soldier who served as a member of the Praetorian Guard during the reign of Roman Emperor Diocletian. Following his refusal to recant his Christian faith, George was sentenced to death and eventually venerated as a saint in Christianity.

By the 870s, alleged pieces of his personal set of armor were scattered in Anglo-Saxon England, later recovered by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir after raiding several river-bound locations.[1]

In 2013, William Miles included the story of Saint George slaying the dragon in his codex as a clue for Gavin Banks[2] It lead the crew of the Altaïr II to Moscow, Russia where Saint George is featured on the city's coat of arms.[3]
