The Sacred Cenote is a water filled limestone sinkhole near Chichen Itza, located on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico.[1]
The system of caves and tunnels that stretch beneath the Cenote, linking it to the Pyramid of Kukulkan, led to two Isu vaults and were filled with Isu artifacts, ranging from Prophecy Disks to Rings and Shards.[2]
History
In 1769, the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré, having noticed the disappearances of slaves and vagrants in her native city of New Orleans, traveled to Chichen Itza to discover the extent of the Templars' plans.[3] Aveline had to dive into the Sacred Cenote and swim through an underwater tunnel to reach the tunnels that took her to the vaults.[4]
