Robert Guiscard (c. 1015 – 17 July 1085) was a Norman adventurer during the 11th century, who played an important part in the Norman conquest of southern Italy. In 1084, Normans under Guiscard sacked Rome. In 2012, Abstergo Industries added a mnemonic set to Project Legacy themed around many different "Sacks of Rome" and added Guiscard to it as a key figure.[1]
