The Ratae bureau was one of the bureaus established by the Roman branch of the Hidden Ones, located beneath a temple complex in the Roman town of Ratae, which eventually became the city of Leicester in England.
History
The bureau was established at some point prior to 164 CE, when a contract was issued for overseeing the retreat of Roman forces from the Antonine Wall, undertaken successfully by Magister Eghan. Around 423, Magister Vitus ordered the evacuation of the Hidden Ones from Britannia, directing them to the Cologne bureau in Germania. The Ratae bureau was subsequently abandoned along with the other bureaus.[1]
In the 870s, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir, tasked with uncovering the abandoned bureaus of England by Hytham, discovered the Ratae bureau and recovered a page from The Magas Codex and the gloves of a Hidden One.[1]
