Ransom Eli Olds

Ransom Eli Olds (June 3, 1864 – August 26, 1950) was a pioneer in the automobile industry, a member of the Templar Order and one of the "Founders" of Abstergo Industries.[1] He was the founder of the Oldsmobile and REO brands of automobiles. He founded the Olds Motor Vehicle Company in Lansing, Michigan, on August 21, 1897. Olds was a Republican, and served as a delegate from Michigan's 6th District to the 1908 Republican National Convention, which nominated William Howard Taft for president.
