Raffaele Sansoni Galeoti Riario (3 May 1461 – 9 July 1521) was an Italian cardinal during the Renaissance and the nephew of Pope Sixtus IV.
In 1478, Raffaele was involved in the Pazzi conspiracy to topple Duke Lorenzo de' Medici as the leader of Florence. Unlike the other conspirators, he was given clemency following his capture and the failure of the conspiracy. Lorenzo believed that Raffele was too gullible and sincere to have played any serious part in the conspiracy. However, many of Lorenzo's advisors believed that the Duke had based this decision on genuine compassion rather than political cunning.
