Quill was a crew member on the Providence during its voyage to Boston from London.
Biography
In 1754, on the second day of the trip, Quill spent time around fellow crew members Hector Graves and Louis Mills on the ship deck. He later became involved in a brawl with Haytham Kenway, who defeated him.[1]
Quill kept doing his job on the ship until the Providence reached the Thirteen Colonies after a 72-day voyage. Although he was one of the crew that wanted to overthrow Captain Samuel Smythe, the mutiny never happened.[1]
