They call me many things: Murderer. Cutthroat. Thief. But you may call me Pythia (480 BCE).

The Pythia, or high priestess of Apollo in Sanctuary of Delphi, in 480 BCE was one of the many oracles manipulated by the Cult of Kosmos.

Biography

In 480 BCE, the Pythia met the Spartan King Leonidas I. As decreed by the Cult of Kosmos, the Pythia attempted to dissuade Leonidas from warring with King Xerxes I of Persia, whom the Cult had supported. The Pythia told the King that his efforts to resist Xerxes' invasion would be fruitless and that Xerxes would bring order to chaos.[1]

Nevertheless, Leonidas ignored the Pythia's advice and faced Xerxes' army at the Battle of Thermopylae[1], an act which cost him his life, but ultimately paved way for the Greeks' victory.[2]

Trivia

  • In the novel she is described as "a shriveled old hag", whereas in game she is portrayed as relatively young and comely.
