Claudius Ptolemy (c. 100 – c. 170) was a Greco-Egyptian mathematician, astronomer, geographer, astrologer, and poet who also held Roman citizenship. He is best remembered for his Geography, an authorative treatise on the matter.
During the early 16th century, the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze bought a copy of this book from a book shop in Constantinople.
