Evie: "A herbarium? Are you collecting flowers for someone?"
Henry: "Only myself. I'm told it's something of a British passtime."
—Henry explaining the herbarium, 1868.[src]

During her time in London, Evie Frye collected several pressed flowers for Henry Green's herbarium, since her companion had little time to do so himself. The two became closer as the collection grew, with Henry eventually proposing to Evie with a bouquet of flowers.
