Pietro Perugino (c. 1446/1452 – c. 1523) was an Italian painter of the Umbrian school, who developed some of the qualities that found classic expression in the High Renaissance. He was also the teacher of Raphael.
He was one of the painters hired by the Pope to paint fresco panels for the Sistine Chapel in Rome.[1]
