The Petuaria Ruins were Roman ruins, near the Humbre River and the Derwent River, in 9th century Eurvicscire.
History
Around 876, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan traveled with Halfdan Ragnarsson and his dog, Beonton, to find his scout's killers and was led to the Petuaria Ruins. Along their search, Eivor and Halfdan worked their way under the ruins and found the surplus of goods and wealth from past battles. Halfdan roared out accusations that thieves within his group stole this and later asked Eivor for her conversation with Moira. Eivor stated that Moira believed that Halfdan suffered from mental illness, but Halfdan insisted he was poisoned.[1]
Within their conversation, Eivor asked Halfdan to be silent as they soon heard commotion above them. Exiting outside the ruins, Eivor and Haldfan found Ulf and his men, who welcomed their jarl and Eivor. However, Halfdan accused them as thieves. As Ulf claimed it was his and his men's treasures, Halfdan asked why they killed their scout. Ulf finally realized his mistake but still held firm to the wealth being theirs and asked Eivor to help him. Despite Eivor's word, Halfdan executed Ulf for his treachery. Halfdan later asked Eivor to continue her investigation into Faravid.[1]
Through her travels, Eivor probed the temple ruins and climbed down, underneath the ruins. Bypassing destructive walls and poisonous gases, Eivor recovered a Book of Knowledge, and learned a skill, Poisonous Powder Trap.[2]
