Peter Stirling (died 1916) was a British corporal who fought in World War I.
In February 1916, Stirling's friend corporal Andrew Fellows was injured. Fellows asked Stirling to write to his sister Becky being unable to do so himself. In the letter, he informed her of his injury and wished her well, going so far as saying he hoped they would meet one day, having heard a lot about her. Both Fellows and Stirling were killed months later when the vehicle transporting them was hit by mortar fire.[1]
Fellows' letter ended up in London, where it was recovered by the British Assassin Lydia Frye.[2]
