On 17 June 1952, Thomas Sean Morgan took part in a meeting with Theodore von Kármán about Jack Parsons and his activities. When Morgan told Dr. Von Kármán about the trip Parsons had planned for Mexico in a few days' time, the doctor became upset and immediately tried calling Parsons, though it was not answered.
Morgan then set off to warn Parsons, but he was stopped by employees of Abstergo Industries, who forced him to come with them. Just as he realized who they were, Parsons' lab exploded, causing a blinding flash and the ground to shake, leaving the laboratory completely destroyed.
