Publius Ovidius Naso, simply known as Ovid (20 March 43 BCE – AD 17/18 CE), was a Roman poet who worked for Emperor Augustus before being disgraced and exiled. Among his works are the Metamorphoses, a long narrative poem listing 250 different myths.
During the 16th century, the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze bought a copy of this book from one of the several book shops in Constantinople.[1]
