The ostrich (Struthio camelus) is the largest, heaviest, and fastest bird on Earth, with a top speed of 70 km/h.[1] Ostriches can be found in large areas of sub-Saharan Africa.[1] A subspecies used to inhabit the Arabian Peninsula before its extinction in the 20th century.[2]
