Orestes was a King of Sparta and Argos who lived during the Trojan War. He was the son of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra.

After his death, Orestes' bones were brought to Sparta from Tegea on the Oracle of Delphi's advice. A tomb was later erected for him in Sparta, situated in Argolis.
