Oporto, or simply Porto, is the second-largest city in Portugal, behind only Lisbon. [citation needed]
History
In the early 18th century, the English established trading posts around Porto's coves, bolstering the city's economic importance.[1] This, along with other factors, such as political subsidies for Cuban tobacco,[2] impelled the Welsh pirate Edward Kenway to trade with the city.[1][2]
