Olynthos Fortress was a military fort located southwest of Amphipolis in Makedonia, Greece.
During the Peloponnesian War the fort was infiltrated by the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who recovered a spear which had allegedly belonged to the Greek hero Achilles.[1]
Trivia
- Though the fortress is located roughly where the polis Olynthus was, the city-state itself doesn't appear in Odyssey.
