Oleg of Novgorod (c. 845 – 912) was a Varangian chieftain of the Rus' who succeeded Rurik.
Biography
In 879, Oleg acted as the voice of Rurik for some of his merchant contracts across Europe, including one in the Norse-Gaelic Kingdom of Dublin in Ireland. The Dubliners noted that while Oleg wielded as much power as Rurik, he was not as wise.[1]
