The Obsidian Sword was a sword found in Greece during the 5th century BCE. Despite its name, the sword was made of metal instead of obsidian, and its crossguard was shaped like wings.
Though uniquely shaped, the sword was still a common sight during the Peloponnesian War, whether in combat or in the inventories of blacksmiths.[1]

Behind the scenes
The Obsidian Sword, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the same model as a number of other similar weapons in the same game, including the Sword of Axon and Hygieia's Shadow Blade, two other weapons in the same game. These are all the recycled model of the Tempest Blade, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins.
