Nikolai Orelov was an Assassin who lived during the Russian Revolution. He is the main character of the new Assassin's Creed comic book mini-series. There will be three issues, each one concentrating on different periods of Orelov's life: as an apprentice Assassin, as a Master Assassin and as a veteran Assassin. The name Orelov comes from the russian word for EAGLE, particullary OREL. However it is incorrectly derived from it, the proper russian form being Orlov. Orelov is instead a slovenian surname.
Biography
Orelov lived in the early 20th century, and operated mainly in St. Petersburg (also known as Petrograd), Russia. He was once apprenticed to a more experienced Assassin.
Orelov would have at least one child and was the ancestor of the modern-day Daniel Cross.
Appearance
Orelov wore a large fur coat with the traditional Assassin's hood. He wielded one Hidden Blade, a dagger, a longsword and a (likely bolt-action) rifle. He wore a sash and a baldric with the Assassins' emblem on it.
