Nicholas Alexandrovich (1843 – 1865) was tsesarevich of Russia from 1855 until his death in 1865.[1] He was engaged to Dagmar of Denmark, and a wedding was originally planned for 1864, but he fell ill and the event was postponed. He died before they could marry,[2] and his final request was for his fiancée to marry his brother, Alexander III.[1]
