Nero also commissioned a 35 meter tall bronze statue of himself to be placed just outside the Palace's main entrance. Some people claimed that he intentionally started the fire to make room for his palace on [[Esquiline Hill]]. It was also likely that Nero used the aqueducts to build his palace because they did not give water to civilians anymore for a time.
