Narses (c. 478 – c. 573) was a Byzantine general who was, with Belisarius, one of the great generals in the service of Emperor Justinian I during the Roman reconquest that took place during Justinian's reign.

During the Roman reconquest, Narses had a victory overthe Ostrogoths, which led Pope Pelagius I to built a church in Rome to celebrate his victory.[1]
