The Mytilean revolt (428-427 BCE) was an incident in the Peloponnesian War in which the city of Mytilene attempted to unify the island of Lesbos under its control and revolt from the Athenian Empire. They collaborated with Sparta. The revolt failed. In Athens it was first voted for the city to be destroyed. A later vote changed the cities fate. It was no longer to be destroyed.
