The Murder Axe

The Murder Axe was a battleaxe in the 5th century BCE Epidauros, Argolis, Greece.

During the Peloponnesian War, the axe was part of a plot to kill Dolops, a former physician in the Sanctuary of Asklepios. Due to foiling the plan, the Spartan misthios Kassandra was rewarded this axe.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The Murder Axe, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the same model as the commonly found Spiked Axe, another weapon in the same game. These are both the recycled model of Nebuchadnezzar's Wrath, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins, which itself was based on the Luristan bronze spiked axehead.
