Biography

Fahad's bandits

Mukhlis lived in Masyaf and had a wife and daughter; Aalia and Nada. For some reason he had to leave home, across the desert, at which he received a good luck gift from his daughter; a painted stone, with a text saying "Good luck, Papa.".[1]

On his way back, Mukhlis had to stop at a well in the desert, out of exhaustion. At the well, he saw a man, who he assumed to be a traveller like himself. The next day, Mukhlis woke up with a figure standing over him, who put a blade to his neck as he tried to get up. The two companions of this stranger were already going through Mukhlis' precious belonging, dropping whatever they thought was unnecessary, discovering the stone Nada had given to her travelling father. As Mukhlis was being hauled up a tree by a rope, upside down, the two bandits disposed of this emotionally precious belonging, plopping it into the well.[1]

Not soon after, Altaïr arrived - the Altaïr who had not known battle for two decades - and took out just one of the bandits. Moments later a battle had started, immediately tiring out the old Assassin, eventually leaving himself up to the bandits' mercy, of which they had none. At that moment, Mukhlis - still tied up in the tree - grabbed ahold of Bayhas, son of Fahad and leader of the group of bandits, at which Altaïr sliced the caged enemy, rescuing both himself and Mukhlis.[1]

Service to Altaïr

Altaïr collapsed, blood gushing from his wounds. At once, Mukhlis had cut himself down from the tree, putting Altaïr over his horse and riding for Masyaf, where he and his family tended the Assassin's wounds and kept him safe. Eventually, when Altaïr planned to retake the Order and free it from Abbas Sofian's tyranny, Mukhlis helped Altaïr rally the villagers for his return.[1]

Mukhlis later became Altaïr's personal servant and friend. He helped escorted Niccolò Polo and Maffeo Polo to meet with Altaïr during the fall of Masyaf.[1]
