Muhammad ibn Abd ar-Rahman al-Wa'st (823 – 886) was emir of Córdoba from 852 to 886, reigning as Muhammad I.
Succeeding his father Abd al-Rahman II, Muhammad spent much of his reign quelling several revolts and separatist movements of the Muwallad and the Mozarabs in the state.[1] Continuing the tradition laid down by his father, Muhammad maintained a trade route with the Norse-Gaelic Kingdom of Dublin in Ireland, which allowed him to sustain his reign.[2]
