Mount Ida is the highest mountain in Minos' Legacy region of Messara, Greece.
In 5th century BCE Cave of Ionides in the Psophis Foothills in Elis was built by mortal hands to resemble the cave on Mount Ida where the god Zeus was said to have spent his youth. During the Peloponnesian War the site was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
