Mitre Square is a square in London, United Kingdom.
History
On 30 September 1888, the square was where the rogue Assassin Jack the Ripper murdered the prostitutes Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes, both of whom had been replaced by Assassin initiates. Jacob Frye, alerted of the murders, travelled to the scene to investigate and lure out Jack.[1]
After Jack took control of Jacob's Rooks, he established an illegal fight club near the square. In October, Frederick Abberline requested Jacob's sister Evie Frye to shut down the club.[2]
