Miriam was a British citizen who lived and worked in London in the mid-nineteenth century.
Biography
In 1868, she worked as a maid for Lady Ursula in her Westminster home, having plans to marry the butler, Douglas. Needing money to build a live together, Douglas schemed with the spiritualist Thaddeus the Great to gain Lady Ursula's inheritance. He asked Thaddeus to tell his employer that her cat Mittens wished for Douglas to receive the inheritance.
