Mereruka (died 47 BCE) was an Egyptian farmer who worked in the Green Mountains region of Kyrenaika during the 1st century BCE.
Biography
In around 47 BCE, the Roman proconsul of Cyrene Flavius Metellus passed by the farms, using his newly acquired Apple of Eden to control and corrupt the minds of the farmers in the area. Mereruka was one of those who suffered the effects, causing him to kill and eliminate his fellow farmers. The Greek healer Praxilla begged him to stop to no avail, eventually forcing her to eliminate Mereruka before he could kill her.[1]
