The Mercenary in Assassin Creed: Brotherhood.

The Mercenary (real name: Rocco Tiepolo) is an unlockable multiplayer character in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, whose primary weapon is a short sword. He becomes available after the player has reached Level 45.

In Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy, Fiora Cavazza is sent to Rocco's camp to select mercenaries for Cesare Borgia's army. The two got along well, and Rocco displayed extensive knowledge of his men's skills. After Fiora betrayed all of Cesare's agents to the Assassins, Rocco was one of the first to be targeted, as a large number of his mercenaries were working for Cesare. Rocco was eventually killed in battle by the Assassins, along with many of his men.

Unique Moves

Rapid Run-through (Low Profile, Back)

The Mercenary approaches his target from behind, grabbing their left shoulder. Spinning them round, he impales them in the stomach twice before pushing his victim to the floor.

No Escape (High Profile, Back)

The Mercenary runs behind his target, grabbing them by the scruff of their neck, and throws them behind him to his left. As his victim attempts to pick themselves off the floor the Mercenary stabs them in the small of their back, severing their spine.

Killer Migraine (Low Profile, Front)

The Mercenary approaches his target from the front, gripping their right arm, and headbutts them. While they are stunned from the blow, he runs them through with his short sword.

The Picker Upper (High Profile, Front)

The Mercenary runs up to his target, impaling them in the stomach. He then lifts them up with the short sword, and throws them off the end it.

Rough and Tumble (Bench Kill)

The Mercenary grabs his target, holding them in a headlock. He then stabs his victim in the stomach, before pulling them up by their head and throwing their limp body to the floor.

The Tyrannic Talon (Aerial Kill)

The Mercenary jumps from a rooftop onto his target, pulling out his short sword while in mid-air, before stabbing his target in the centre of the back as he lands, severing their spine.

Customization

Colors:

• Basic: Blue
• Extra 1: Gray
• Extra 2: Green
• Extra 3: Red

Gear:

• Advanced: Altered glove, altered boots, extended jacket.
• Superior: Purple pants changed to customizable color, cape is changed from purple to red and green.
• Elite: Another extension to the jacket, larger right spaulder, added large silver medallion.

Trivia

• The crest on the Mercenary's cape is that of the Sforza house, possibly implying that he is somehow related to them or once worked for them.
• Sometimes when doing an aerial assassination, the Mercenary doesn't pull out his short sword.
