Marseille is a city in southern France.

History[edit | edit source]

As of 1511, a wealthy merchant in Marseille possessed a treasure rumored to have been of Isu origin. Ottoman Assassins sent from Constantinople traveled to the city and retrieved the artifact from the merchant's home.[1]

In that same year, King Louis XII, tired of Marseille's threats of secession and influenced by his Templar advisors, sent his army to banish all Assassins from the city. Aided by their Ottoman brothers, the French Assassins were able to stop the French army, without needing to resort to violence.[2] Later, the Assassins rebuilt their rank by recruiting disgruntled soldiers.[3] By eliminating the Templars, the Assassins freed Marseille from their influences, and assisted in the restoration of the city.[4]

In the dawn of the 18th century, Marseille wass bursting with rogues and rapscallions. The fleet of the Caribbean pirate Edward Kenway sold tobacco to the men who ran the city prison.[5] When the city was struck by the plague in 1720, the fleet provided cocoa to Marseille's doctors as a new medicine.[6]

In the late 18th century, the Parisian Templar Élise de la Serre went in Marseille with her friend Arno Dorian and the pair was involved in some kind of brawling.[7]
