Marseille is a city in southern France.
As of 1511, a wealthy merchant in Marseille possessed a treasure rumored to have been of First Civilization origin. Ottoman Assassins sent from Constantinople traveled to the city and retrieved the artifact from the merchant's home.
That same year, King Louis XII, tired of Marseille's threats of secession, sent his army to banish all Assassins from the city. Aided by their Ottoman brothers, the French Assassins were able to stop the French army, without needing to resort to violence.
Later, the Assassins were also able to free Marseille from its Templar influences, and assisted in the restoration of the city.
