Ljosalfar Blade

Ljosalfar Blade was a seax rumored to have been created in Álfheimr due to the near glass-like polish of its steel blade.

During the Viking expansion into Anglo-Saxon England in the 9th century, the short blade was made available to the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan through an Animus modification by Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relieved her memories in 2020.[1]

Description
A marvelous blade with steel as polished as glass. Said to have been created in Alfheimr.

Behind the scenes

The name of the blade references the Ljósálfar, or "light elves", from Norse mythology who were believed to live in Álfheimr, as described in the Prose Edda. They were often contrasted with Dökkálfar or "dark elves" who lived underground and, despite the name, were separate beings from the Svartálfar or "black elves" from Svartálfaheimr.
