Lineage Discovery and Acquisition was a department of Abstergo Industries closely related to the Animus project. As the name suggests, they were responsible for locating and acquiring Assassins or their descendants for use in the Project.

The department has taken part in the capture of at least two subjects: Subject 4,[1] and Subject 17.[2]
