Lincoln's Inn Fields is the largest public square in London, United Kingdom, allegedly designed to be the same size as the base of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
History
The field was commissioned by King James I in the 1630s as an improvement to the city. However, the square later became a popular spot for beggars and vagrants. In 1735, the square was closed through an act of the Parliament. It remained closed to the public until 1895 when it was acquired by the London County Council.[1]
