Li Heng (李亨; 711 – 762) was the Crown Prince during the reign of his father as Tang Emperor Xuanzong. Following his father's abdication during the An Lushan Rebellion, Li Heng ascended the throne as Emperor Suzong of Tang (唐肅宗), reigning from 756 to his death in 762.

In 754, An Lushan rebelled against the empire and founded the Yeluohe which scored multiple victories against the Tang army. As the rebels inched closer to the capital city of Chang'an, Emperor Xuanzong made the decision to abandon the capital of Chang'an and seek refuge in Shu, with Li Heng part of the entourage.[1]

Following a mutiny that saw the deaths of Imperial consort Yang Guifei, chancellor Yang Guozhong and the Golden Turtles, the Crown Prince remained behind to care and comfort the local citizens, while Emperor Xuanzong's escort continued towards Shu. Afterwards, Li Heng headed to Lingwu,[2] where he was crowned as Emperor Suzong,[3] and continued the resistance against the rebellion.[2]
